PDP calls for emergency meeting over leadership crisis

Abuja - Following the suit initiated against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by former political adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and state chairmen will meet on Tuesday to fine-tune trouble- shooting measures, reportsSun.
Gulak had dragged the party to court over the delay in appointing the PDP chairman.
The case comes up for hearing at the Federal High Court on Wednesday.
Although, Tuesday’s meeting is being convened by the NWC to deliberate generally on the affairs of the party, it was gathered that Gulak’s case against the party triggered the meeting.
Part of the game plan is to suspend Gulak and weaken his case

The meeting would come up with a communique which will still concede the chairmanship seat to the North East but with a proviso that the acting chairman will serve out the remaining period be- fore the convention.
